Campuses & Facilities

Explore our campuses

Each Campus of The Gnostic Centre is cultivated organically. The built structures communicate with Nature. Access to light and natural beauty is a primary feature. Each Campus has Accommodation facilities besides others that are specific to the campus. Some of the facilities can be booked for personal or group use as well, and one may hold Team Meetings, Workshops, Conferences or Retreats.

The Gnostic Centre

The main campus, where The Gnostic Centre began, is on Delhi-Gurugram border. It was inaugurated on 28th March 1997. It is about 20-minutes by car from the International Airport. Located inside a horse-breeding farm, it is vast, green, serene and organically cultivated. It houses several facilities :

  • Shrine with the sacred relics of Sri Aurobindo.
  • L’avenir (the future) – the Centre’s integral education-based school for 2- to 7-year-olds.
  • Meditation Hall – the very first structure created, serves multiple purposes – as a meditation space, a workshop and study circle space, as well as a library.
  • Alchemy – the integral health centre with a Gym, Yoga studio and natural food outdoor Café.
  • Accommodation at Quietude, Grace and Community House.
  • Synthesis – a seminar space with state-of-the-art Conferencing technology. (Open to bookings by individuals or groups.)

The Sacred Groves

A vast open campus in the foothills of Aravalis, close to Haryana-Rajasthan border, on the banks of now nearly extinct Aravari river. The campus has been under development since 2012, primarily for ecological work – soil regeneration, check-dams for water conservation and organic farming. It offers Accommodation and Meditation space. Surrounded by Meo villages, it offers several opportunities for ecological and social work.

The Monk’s Retreat

At 7200 ft, close to Mukteshwar (Uttarakhand), surrounded by oak forests, The Monk’s Retreat sits right across the Himalayan snow peaks, in the quaint hill-top village of Loshgyani. It was inaugurated on 6th June 2014 with the coming of Sri Aurobindo’s sacred relics on their way to Madhuban (30-minutes away). The fresh air, mountain fragrance, scenes and sounds from village life, and glorious sunrises and sunsets suffuse the senses with the beauty and energy of the hills.

The entire campus is organically cultivated. Emphasis is laid upon water harvesting and waste management. Efforts are on to nurture the indigenous species of long lasting trees such as oak, rhododendron and cypress.

The Monk’s Retreat is intended to accommodate seekers, students and corporates, wishing to volunteer with the local community. Special summer retreats, courses, workshops can be offered on request, for groups or individuals. Groups may also book it for their own retreats. It offers:

Accommodation

The Accommodation needs to be booked in advance for Individual or/and Group stay. Use of alcohol, drugs, non-vegetarian food is prohibited. Cooperation is requested to maintain the cleanliness and serenity of the spaces.
