At an altitude of 7200 ft, surrounded by oak forests, The Monk’s Retreat sits across from Himalayan snow peaks. The fresh air, mountain fragrance, scenes and sounds from village life, and glorious sunrises and sunsets suffuse the senses with the beauty and energy of the hills.
The entire campus is organically cultivated. Emphasis is laid upon water harvesting and waste management. Efforts are on to nurture the indigenous species of long lasting trees such as oak, rhododendron and cypress.
The Gnostic Centre’s Himalayan retreat is intended to accommodate seekers, students and corporates, wishing to volunteer with the local community. Special summer retreats, courses, workshops, can be offered on request, for groups or individuals.
Inaugurated in June 2014, the Monk’s Retreat presently houses:
The Community House – a speciality lodging
