Aravalis Campus: The Food bowl of the Gnostic Centre
Village Gandwa, Tehsil Tijara, Dist. Alwar, Rajasthan, India
The Gnostic Centre’s third campus is situated in the foothills of Aravali mountains in the Alwar district of Rajasthan (western India). This vast campus sits right in the midst of illegal mining activity. An extinct river runs alongside. Denuded and suffering from soil erosion at the time of acquisition by the Gnostic Centre, the campus is now cultivated organically and serves as the Food Bowl for the Centre.
Several check-dams have since been built to prevent soil erosion. Numerous trees, including a grove of Banyan trees, have been planted. The Aravali Campus is primarily for farming purposes at present. Besides the staff quarters, it houses a Guest Cottage with basic amenities. It is a good site for outdoor camping.
A grove of 18 banyan trees was planted a few years back, after a collective invocation and meditation, to prepare the land.
