About Us

OUR VISION

“Yoga must be revealed to mankind because without it mankind cannot take the next step in the human evolution.”

(Sri Aurobindo)

The Gnostic Centre’s vision is to create and establish a prototype of the universities of tomorrow, which Sri Aurobindo considered as one of the best means of preparing the future humanity to receive the new consciousness that will transform human nature and society.

The Key words of this evolving Academy of the Future are: Aspiration, Integration and Transformation. Therefore, we call upon all those who have an aspiration towards this new light of consciousness and knowledge to join us.

GENESIS

The Gnostic Centre grew out of shared dreams and aspirations of a small group that comprised of Ameeta, Ritika and Anuradha. They would meet every Sunday at one of their residences, to meditate, read and invoke. The invocations, aspirations, and discussions, led to the birth of the Centre on the 29th of February 1996. Soon new members joined the group and study circles and worshops were conducted at various locations.

The Gnostic Centre was officially set up as a not-for-profit trust in New Delhi, India and on 15th August 1996, the foundation stone was laid where the centre was going to be built. Consecrated to the vision and work of Sri Aurobindo and The Mother, the Gnostic Centre was inaugurated on 28th March 1997.

In the attempt to formulate programs and courses for the growth of consciousness, we were guided by Dr Nirodbaran, literary secretary to Sri Aurobindo, and the scribe for ‘Savitri – A Legend and a Symbol’.
